Short biography

Doris Manu is a career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania since 2023, supporting Romania’s participation in regional cooperation organisations in South-Eastern Europe and the Black Sea area.

In 2021, she was an adviser to the Special Representative of the Romanian Government for the promotion of memory policies, combating anti-Semitism and xenophobia. She worked at the European Commission and the EU External Action Service (2019-2022), with a series of responsibilities in the field of strategic communications and EU foreign policy towards the Western Balkan countries.

The beginning of her professional career was in the European Parliament, as an advisor for political communication (2017-2019). In the period 2009-2013, she carried out internships at the EU Delegation to Serbia, the Liaison Office of Romania in Kosovo, and the UN Office in Romania.

Doris Manu has an MA in European Studies from the College of Europe and a MA in South-East European Studies from the University of Graz / University of Belgrade. She has a BA in Political Science from the University of Bucharest. She graduated from the training program for diplomats of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, and specialized in multilateral diplomacy and cultural diplomacy at the training centers University of Siena, European Danube Academy, European Forum Alpbach and College of Europe. She is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Serbian.
